Sojourner Truth House remains open and operational during the pandemic. Our ministry responded immediately to this crisis by making the necessary physical and operational changes and coordinating our work with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines.

During the pandemic, we have seen an increase in the need for food in our community. To address this concern, we have made changes to convert our Food Pantry to a drive-thru and walk-up service allowing us to assist community residents safely and quickly.

Based on recommendations from the CDC, we have taken steps to maximize the safety and wellness of our clients, volunteers, and co-workers in our facility. This includes requiring masks for anyone over the age of 2 years old, a hands-free temperature check upon entering the building, increased cleaning and disinfecting of high touch surfaces throughout the day, plexiglass sneeze guards installed at all desks and seating spaced at least 6 feet apart.

We have worked successfully to keep all our clients, volunteers, and co-workers safe, and this will continue to be our focus.
