  • Sojourner Truth House celebrates 20 years of service to the community

    GARY — Sojourner Truth House (STH), a day center for homeless and at-risk women and children, celebrated its 20th Anniversary by hosting a day of festivities last month.

    The ministry welcomed Sisters from the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ and the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Agnes, donors, volunteers and other supporters to its facility at 410 W. 13th Avenue for an open house. Attendees took tours, looked at photos from the past 20 years and enjoyed an afternoon of fellowship. Following the open house, a Celebration Mass was officiated by Bishop Donald J. Hying at the Cathedral of the Holy Angels.
